HOW IT STARTED
The doors of Hamilton Architecture were officially opened in 2006 in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona. It all started before Rick Hamilton was even aware of his passion for architecture. He grew up in a small town outside of Chicago immersed in a world where creativity and construction seemed to coexist effortlessly. He was surrounded by talented artists from his mother’s side and building construction experts from his father’s side. Together, they encouraged him to create art from sketching to using scrap lumber to build things. Unknowingly, this was all shaping him to be an architect later on in his life.
After working with a variety of firm sizes, Hamilton Architecture was born.

We are a full-service architecture firm with a focus on educational, commercial, and residential design. We have a deep respect for the role education plays in shaping our society, so our mission is to bring to life the innovative, safe, and inspiring spaces educators need to shape the next generation of leaders through a proven, client focused, design process.
Client satisfaction is our top priority.
We approach every client and project the exact same regardless of the scale of the project. A client designing a small tenant build-out carries as much weight as a new campus client, which all deserves attention and respect. Their project is important to us as it is to them.
We also approach each project in a very defined design process. This helps eliminate errors and keep even the most complex projects on track. Clients are involved early and often and are kept in the loop throughout the entire life of the project to ensure their comfort and to eliminate any surprises. Our top priority is that our clients are receiving the attention they deserve and have a space that achieves all of their goals.
Often times, the size of the budget or value of the customer determines the attention a project is provided by a firm. At Hamilton Architecture, the client will always interact with one or both members of the leadership team from the initial client interaction through the final walk-through of the space. This maintains accountability for all decisions that are made and nothing is lost in translation.
